Solar energy is an excellent form of renewable energy which suits a variety of properties of different sizes.

The solar heating systems can be industrial and residential – both, use rooftop collectors. The collected heat is used to heat buildings, water for use in the kitchen, bathrooms and even swimming pools. Industries are also using Solar Heating in many manufacturing systems – like drying out cereals and vegetables, etc.

These industries have lauded the use of Solar Heating systems and solar lighting systems as they have helped reduce the consumption of grid electricity leaving close to 2 million MWatts of electricity. They have low operation and maintenance cost. There is no emission or residual waste.

There are many parts of the world which are devoid of electricity due to their remoteness, but the sun reaches everywhere hence the Solar Heating systems are ideal for these communities. The only limitation of this system maybe the cool darkness of the night, but provisions for storage of heat as a backup have been made in most systems.
